Farewell to Revd Anne Hindle

Warmington Church was full of people on that Saturday afternoon towards the end of January in 2016.  On both sides of the aisle were visitors from the villages of Southill and Clifton in Bedfordshire where Reverend Anne Hindle had been Vicar.  The fondness they all had for Anne and their gratitude shone through as they spoke warmly of her ministry with them. They said that we were blessed to be welcoming Anne as our new Vicar for the Warmington Benefice.

That sense of loss is something felt now in Cotterstock, Fotheringhay, Southwick, Tansor and Warmington as we prepare for Anne’s retirement at the end of August.  Anne brought her prayerful energy with her to the benefice, focussing on the worshipping heartbeat.  She has ministered Christ’s love with her heart and soul, selflessly working far more than the half-time hours for which she has been paid.  We thank her for listening to God’s call to minister here and for her commitment as our priest and pastor.  We thank her for enabling us to flourish in faith.  We thank her for her vision and encouragement.  We thank her for her unstinting prayers and so very much more.

Each one of us will have something for which to thank Anne.  Please come and join us for her final service on Sunday, 25 August at 10.15 am at Warmington.  This will be a Benefice Communion Service and will be followed by a farewell buffet and presentation in Warmington Village Hall.  All welcome.
